About Me

Well, I'm a keen amateur photographer, interested mainly in black and white work, with a number of years of practice behind me, and many more in front too, hopefully. I'm a Software Engineer by trade and use photography as my main creative outlet.

Although I prefer working with traditional black and white film, I have recently made the transition to a digital SLR as I no longer have the space for a darkroom. I take the same approach with digital as I did with film - I shoot in RAW and then develop and process the images digitally, using skills and techniques I've adapted from traditional darkroom processes. I feel that this gives me the best of both worlds. Additionally, I still shoot some film and then scan the negatives to work on them digitally. I use this approach mainly for my old medum format cameras and homemade pinhole cameras.

My photography is primarily a hobby, although I do some work on commission if the project is interesting enough. Additionally, I sell a limited number prints of my work directly. If you wish to purchase a print or discuss a commission, then please drop me a line.
